Balkrishan Goenka (friends call him ‘BKG’) began his career and launched Welspun at an impressionable age of 18 in 1985. He became Full time Director of Welspun in 1991 and since then there is no looking back for this prominent entrepreneur of India.
True to Welspun’s motto of ‘Dare to Commit’, BKG, with his dynamism and dedication, has been successful to encompass the way Welspun accepts biggest of challenges and aims to perform exceedingly better that expected, in the process of delighting all stakeholders. Under his able leadership and guidance, Welspun today has emerged the 2nd Largest (Large Diameter) Pipe Company in the World (Financial Times, UK) and amongst World’s top 3 producers of Home Textiles (Home Textiles Today, US).

BKG is happily married for the past 20 years and has two doting daughters. He has a passion for Vintage cars and is an avid reader. A religious person by nature, BKG has a strong belief in Spirituality. He is the member of the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO) and member of various reputed clubs and Institutes both in India and abroad. He has been awarded Entrepreneur of the year by Ernest & Young, India and under his able guidance, Welspun has been awarded the Emerging Company of the Year by Economic Times, India’s most widely read business newspaper.
